Burgundy, my home

I've been living in Burgundy (France) during 25 years and so I felt the need to paint the part of the area where I was living. My second acrylic subject was easy to find!

Côte d'Or (french) means literally the Gold Coast, due to the wonderful fall colors that you can admire on the grapevine fields during autumn. One of the best time to enjoy Burgundy famous wineyards!

If you are coming to visit France, I really encourage you to visit the new registered UNESCO World Heritage "The Climats, the terroirs of Burgundy" including the capital of the Burgundy region, Dijon knows around the world with his mustard, its blackcurrant liqueur used in the drink "Kir" (former mayor of Dijon canon Félix Kir) or its lovely Nonettes (spice bread filled with fruit jam).

Burgundy is known also for his Burgundian roofs, polychrome roofs characterized by their colorful geometric patterns. One of the best example is the Hôtel-Dieu of Beaune! Come to admire the wonderful roofs and architecture of this former charitable almshouse founded in 1443 in Beaune, now reconverted as a museum.
