After waiting so long time to paint my home town, here we go!! Dijon is at the honour this week!
Here is the town which has not seen me born but where I lived during 25 years! A town, rich in history (capital of the Dukes of Burgundy) and also with its architecture : come admire those splendid Burgundian polychrome roofs, the beautiful timber framing constructions or like the market place designed by the more famous Dijon's designer, Gustave Eiffel!
But Dijon is also a rich niche of diverse local specialities:
- Mustard of Dijon
- the tasty "Nonettes", spice bread filled with jam,
- the blackcurrant liqueur (Lejay-Lagoute, Gabriel Boudier,...),
- the parsley ham,
- the Kir (named after Félix Kir, mayor of Dijon 1945-1968, who is at the origin of this popular mix of Aligoté de Bourgogne - white vine and the liqueur de cassis, - snails of Burgundy,
- Burgundy beef,
- Burgundy vines.................
just come to visit, taste et enjoy the Burgundy's capital!
